Jeff & Shelly
While serving as the pastor of a church in western Montana, Jeff and Shelly ministered to both the adults and children in their community. A pastor friend from a neighboring town asked Jeff to help him with his kid’s ministry. Jeff and his right-hand man packed their cars full of kids and drove 25 miles to Awana Club. This was Jeff’s and Shelly’s introduction to Awana, and they soon involved their church in getting an Awana club started. Five years later, they answered the call to missionary service, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to boys and girls (and entire families) using Awana as a tool. They have been blessed time and time again as they see God’s promise fulfilled: “So shall My word be that goeth forth out of My mouth, it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Jeff says, “Watching God’s Word impacting the lives of clubbers and leaders is contagious: bystanders aren’t content to merely watch, they want to be a part of the action!” Since 1993, the Kesslers have helped churches in Montana and Wyoming focus on the importance of evangelizing and discipling children with the Word of God. Their goal is to first reach children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and then to train them to serve their Savior. Jeff & Shelly have been blessed with a wonderful family of seven grown children (who have all earned their Citation Awards), a daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, and twelve grandchildren (five of whom are involved in Awana).
